In 2010, our chapel was lost to fire. Since all that we are and do radiates from our community worship, the VTS Board of Trustees made a clear decision to build a Chapel for the Ages. Informed by a thoughtful listening process that engaged VTS leaders, supporters, and graduates across the country, the Seminary has embarked on a capital campaign to raise $13 million for this new Chapel.
Virginia Theological Seminary has a long history of forming leaders for the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion. Our milestones and achievements are glimpsed in the lives of those who leave the Holy Hill to serve in the world.
Whether you are an alumnus or alumna, a friend, or one who has benefited from the guidance, wisdom, and pastoral care of a VTS graduate, please join us in building a legacy that will prepare men and women to “Go Ye into the World to Preach the Gospel.”
While the 1881 Chapel was insured as part of the Seminary's overall policy, we still need to raise a considerable amount of money. We believe God is calling us to build a Chapel for the Ages.
The Chapel is the heart of all we do; it is the sole reason for our campaign.

|"Whenever I have visited VTS, I have always been struck by how this academic institution is first and foremost a worshipping community, and that is why the Chapel is so central to the life here. Please help to rebuild it." |
