 Assistant Director for Youth Ministry, Charlotte NC First Presbyterian Church ( www.firstpres-charlotte.org) in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking to add a full-time (40 hours) Assistant Director for Youth Ministry to the church staff. The mission of the youth ministry is to equip and nurture Christ-centered relationships by serving as a spiritual bridge between youth, their families, and the greater community. Through worship, service, witness, and Christian discipleship, FPC’s youth ministry will help prepare youth to articulate and live their faith now and throughout their faith journey.
Consisting of 1700 members, the vibrant and active congregation has been deliberate about supporting the youth in their faith journey by intentionally restructuring its youth program staff to include three positions. The Assistant Director of Youth Ministries will support the youth ministry by working under the leadership of the Director of Youth Ministry. Responsibilities for this position are:
- Designing, implementing, and leading the high school youth program
- Recruiting, equipping and supporting volunteers
- Fostering a collegial and collaborative team approach to doing youth ministry
- Building and nurturing relationships with parents
FPC Charlotte is seeking a spiritually mature individual with experience and success in nurturing relationships with and among youth, parents, advisors and other staff as well as the following qualifications:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A strong personal faith consistent with the Presbyterian Church (USA)
- Experience teaching and leading groups of youth and adults
- A four-year college degree
For the past six months, FPC has partnered with Ministry Architects ( www.ymarchitects.com) to build a sustainable model for the youth ministry. The Assistant Director of Youth Ministry will work in conjunction with the other youth ministry staff, the Renovation Team, Christian Education Committee, and volunteers to continue the progress that has been already made.

 Director of Youth Formation, Midlothian VA The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Midlothian, Virginia is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Formation to work with our grade school through high school programs. In addition to evaluating and implementing curriculum, the programs will consist of:
- religious education
- community service/mission/pilgrimage
- evening/weekend social events
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors; Masters Degree preferred in Christian Education.
We want our youth to be welcomed, valued and supported in a safe and fun environment where they can develop and build faith through the inspiration, encouragement and enthusiasm of the Youth Director.
The Director of Youth Formation needs a passion to relate well with people (children, parents, staff, volunteers and community), the ability to make decisions and delegate responsibilities to others.  Director of Youth Ministry, Silver Spring/Takoma Park MD Update: Application deadline extended to May 31.
Christ Congregational Church in Silver Spring, MD, and Takoma Park Presbyterian Church in Takoma Park, MD, are seeking a creative and inspirational leader to help two thriving and progressive churches develop a combined youth ministry that brings our youth and supporting adults to the “next level” of inner faith development, community involvement, and spiritual activism. This is a unique opportunity for a person of faith to serve a new community that is growing out of already existing and vibrant teen groups at two distinct congregations in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.
The Director of Youth Ministry will develop and implement a cooperative youth ministry between Christ Congregational Church – United Church of Christ, Silver Spring, MD (CCC) and Takoma Park Presbyterian Church, Takoma Park, MD (TPPC).
Ordained and lay persons will be considered for this “non-called” position.
This is a 30-hour position with a salary of up to $30,000 (depending on experience) and health, vacation, study leave, holiday, and sick/family leave benefits.
