WORSHIP & SPIRITUAL FORMATION

Spiritual formation is a part of every facet of life at Virginia Seminary. Worship, classes, fellowship, spiritual direction, prayer groups and bible studies all contribute to the spiritual formation of the men and women in the VTS community. Participation in the church's liturgy through faithful attendance at chapel, intellectual formation through faithful study in classes, and faithful sharing in the life of the seminary community are means by which we believe the Spirit forms all of us.

WORSHIP:

Worship at Virginia Seminary is first and foremost a communal act of thanksgiving and praise of the God who has created and redeemed humankind through Jesus Christ. It is at the heart of what we do, central to understanding that theological education flows out of worship.

SPIRITUAL FORMATION

Virginia Seminary has arranged for a number of men and women to come to the campus on a regular basis, to serve as spiritual diretors for those students who wish to seek individual or group direction, or to participate in a contemplative prayer group. While no student is required to engage in spiritual direction, we urge them to consider prayerfully ways in which they can deepen their relationship with God. Spiritual direction is offered to all degree students, full time special students, and to spouses of full time students.
