Summer Degree Programs

VTS offers the opportunity to earn a masters degree in Christian education through an intensive summer residency program. Designed for employed persons, the goal is to prepare practical leaders, grounded in sound understanding of the Bible and theology, for professions in the field of Christian education. Students can earn a Master of Arts in Christian Education or a Master of Arts in Christian Education with a specialty in Youth Ministry in three to seven years.

Each July students spend two to five weeks on campus studying Bible, Church History, Theology, Ethics, Liturgics and Christian Education in courses taught by Seminary faculty and qualified adjunct professors. During the rest of the year, students complete written assignments and reflect on what they have learned the previous summer.

Students within commuting distance may take some courses towards the degree on a part-time basis during the regular academic year in addition to the summer residency period.
