4/24/2012
Our wider community of friends and alums take an interest in student affairs on this campus.  So there will be interest in our Student Body elections.  These are elections with a difference; these are the first elections to operate under the new Bylaws and Constitution, which the students passed at a meeting two weeks ago.

The new President of the Student Body will be Mr. Grey Maggiano.  The Vice President of the Student Body will be Ms. Logan Taylor; and the new Treasurer will be Mr. Chris Easthill.  Naturally, we congratulate these office holders and look forward to working with them.

We also pause on this day to thank those who put themselves forward to serve.  A competitive election is healthy for an organization, but it comes with some cost to those who participate in the election.  Today we recognize the courage involved in participating in an election.

Student Government is important.  Yesterday the administration of the Seminary met with the student representatives at the Dean's Table.  This is an important forum for conversation and discussion.  In addition, the President of the Student Body meets every other week with me.  In all these ways, we seek to connect and ensure that we continue to serve together the Gospel within this community.

The Very Rev. Ian Markham
Dean and President
