The stories we tell and the connections we make: that’s evangelism, and it’s a new world of evangelism using social media. I saw that Kyle Oliver, VTS graduate of 2012, newly ordained priest and now working at our Center for the Ministry of Teaching as the Digital Missioner and Learning Lab Coordinator, had a piece on the Episcopal Café website. I followed the lead and that led me to his story on how in 2012 VTS students were "learning to use social media to tell the story of how they've been seeking and serving during their formation as church leaders."

Videos, blogs, Facebook, and Twitter tell stories of administering ashes at a Metro station, a forum on the occupy movement, a day at Holy Cross School in Grahamstown in South Africa, befriending our Muslim neighbors, an election day communion, Sandy relief, election day communion, and much more. Following the lead is to take a grand tour that reveals much about our students and the ways they are out into the world. It also shows what the Center for the Ministry of Teaching is about in developing digital ministry and mission.
