Lent has arrived early this year. Suddenly Christmas and Epiphany are over. We find ourselves in that space of repentance, prayer, and reflection. This is the space that God is invited to work on our lives.
As is our practice, the campus descends into silence. We will observe silence from the end of the morning service to the end of the service at the close of the day. Noise is the norm. We surround ourselves with noise from the the moment we wake up until the moment we fall asleep. It might be the radio, conversation, IPod, television, or music. But on this day, we push all that aside. We enter into a space that is rare. And this is space into which we are invited by God to listen and commune.
Silence is extraordinary. We learn about ourselves. We learn about God. We learn about our possible futures. Enjoy today. It is special.
