Tonight our community gathers and we witness to our fundamental identity as a Seminary.  We are the Seminary committed to sharing the transforming good news of God in Christ.  This is the Missionary Society Eucharist.  In addition, to the Eucharist, we will have an international dinner and fair.  Some of our students who have been involved in cross-cultural immersions have teamed up with our international students to prepare this important evening.

Mission is our DNA as a Seminary.  Mission is both/and not either/or.  It is both service to the world and preaching the Gospel; it is not either service or preaching.  Our global sensitivity is a vitally important part of being at VTS.  This is the Seminary that knows we are part of a global family.

This international theme starts with the 1pm forum that the students which went to Myanmar will present.  We will learn at the forum this lunchtime about the impact that travel and encounter can have on a vocation.  This is a day to dedicate to the global community.  Come and learn about the world in which we are call to serve.
