VTS Seminarian Student Chosen For Two Week Program by FASPE

4/10/2013
Jewish-Christian relations are vitally important.  Our Lord Jesus Christ was a Jew; our New Testament was written by Jews.  Yet the history of Jewish-Christian relations has been difficult.  From the challenge of anti-Semitism to the horrendous tragedy of the holocaust, the Church has often betrayed the values of Jesus.

So I was pleased to learn this week that our own Shireen Baker is one of fourteen seminarians chosen by FASPE (Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics) to participate in a highly distinctive and important program.  This program will involve two weeks study in June 2013 in New York, Germany, and Poland.  The team leading the program is impressive and includes Kevin Spicer, LeRoy Walters, and Rabbi Nancy Wiener.

This is an international program.  We are delighted that Shireen has been selected. Please do congratulate Shireen on this opportunity.  And we look forward as a community of learning from the Shireen about the impact of the program on her.
