OK how do I say this gently? It is so inconsiderate when invitations go out and people do not reply. So let me say this loud and clear: those who did not RSVP to tonight's dinner are not expected. So tonight, our seniors and middlers who are anticipating ordination and have confirmed their attendance will have a special and important evening - this is the evening when they will learn about the Church Pension Group.

The Church Pension Group is hosting a lecture at 5:30 PM in Addison 101. Students will hear the presentation about the First Five Years. The aim is to better equip students to navigate those first years after they graduate; what forms to complete, discretionary funds, how to manage a clergy housing allowance, and other matters.

Planning a pension for the future is a difficult but rather important task. Comprehending the specificities that come with being newly ordained or starting a new post in ministry can be daunting. Although we endeavor to prepare our students for things of this nature, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the many forms and details that demand our attention.

We are incredibly fortunate to have the experts of Church Pension Fund here on campus to further the work of the Seminary in preparing our students for the many aspects of life beyond Seminary.
