I do want to highlight the August 17, 2014 issue of the Living Church.  In recent years the quality of the The Living Church has been outstanding.  And this issue is no exception; it is an issue where VTS figures prominently.  In a feature dedicated to the "Future Church," our own Ms. Donyelle McCray is interviewed.  She stresses the need to revisit the great preachers from the past who were good at relating to people on the margins.  Then over the page, there is a fabulous article celebrating the life of John Woolverton (who served as our professor of church history from 1958-1983).  Finally, in the book review section, there is a substantial review article by the Rev. Dr. Robert W. Prichard of A Nation with the Soul of the Church by O.C.Edwards, Jr. It is vintage Bob - a careful and fair review.

This reflects well on the work the Seminary is doing at this time.  And I am especially grateful to Bob and to Donyelle for their willingness to contribute to this important publication of the Episcopal Church.
