Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) announced today the release a new CD of music from the Rev. William Roberts, D.M.A. - New American Choral Music Series: William Bradley Roberts (Gothic Records). 

“A sublime and beautiful experience,” said the Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, dean and president of Virginia Theological Seminary. “From the arrangements of the Spirituals to the Prayer of John Donne, one takes a beautiful journey.”

Recorded in the Washington National Cathedral with the Choir of St. John's Church, Lafayette Square (Washington, D.C.) and conducted by both Roberts and Benjamin Hutto, director of Ministry Music at St. John’s, the 16 tracks on this inaugural edition of the New American Choral Music Series demonstrates the full spectrum of Roberts’ gifts.

 “One marvels at the talent; and one finds one's prayer life enhanced,” Markham continued.

Roberts is an ordained minister and an associate professor of church music at Virginia Theological Seminary. He is in demand as a composer, speaker, and workshop leader. He has served in parishes in Washington, D.C., Arizona, and California. He was a founding member of the Leadership Program for Musicians and a curriculum writer for this multi-denominational organization. He the author of Music and Vital Congregations: A Practical Guide for Clergy (Church Publishing, 2009).
