Wellness has been a major theme over the last year. We know from Matthew Price from the Church Pension Fund that healthy clergy are more likely to be leading growing churches. So we have a Wellness taskforce working hard to think of ways that we can encourage a lifetime of healthy living choices.

Inevitably, the students have been a focus of our wellness theme. So we have decided the time has come to extend the discussion to staff and faculty. At the last staff meeting, I invited staff and faculty to pick a Fitbit (a device that measures steps, sleep effectivness, and weight). At the next staff meeting on February 6th, we will hand out the Fitbits and explain how they work and suggest ways in which we might create a culture of wellness.

I want to take the opportunity to thank Elizabeth Bentrup for coordinating this. We are looking forward to a healthier VTS starting early February.
