As the space for the chapel is created, the staff garden which was created by the class gift from the class of 2003 had to be moved. It was a bench surrounded by three small trees. Today, I want to report on the plans for that staff garden.
The staff garden is going to be reconstructed. It will be nestled in between the 1881 Chapel Garden and the Oratory. Michael Vergason is still working out the details of the design, but it will probably be a bench against the external oratory wall creating a dedicated staff space using the Octagon Room and the Vesting Room as the other two defining walls. There will be some elegant plantings. It will be gorgeous.
The plaque that the class constructed is going to be displayed prominently. And today I wish to conclude with the words on the plaque:
The Branches of the Tree thrive only because of the roots,
so too do the students because of the staff.
In Thanksgiving for the VTS Staff
The sentiments of the plaque are so right - so true. Yes today we give thanks to the staff of VTS.
