Spring Term: Finding God In Your Body Wednesdays, March 6 – May 1, 7:30 – 9:30 PM & Saturday, May 4, 2013, 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM In Genesis, we read that God created us in God’s image and God called it ‘good.’ Where did Christianity get off track, by labeling things spiritual good and things bodily bad? Come explore with the Rev. Ann Gillespie, Episcopal priest and a yoga teacher, ways in which honoring the body can bring us closer to the path of Christ, not further away. We will look at how many religions use the body in prayer, how cultural attitudes, historical and current, shape the way we see and use the body. We will explore ways to use our bodies as tools of discernment. There will be some physical exploration in each class, including basic yoga postures. Experience the presence and wisdom of God’s spirit in your body.
