Visiting VTS

Guest Housing

We welcome alumni as well as friends and visiting groups here on Seminary or church-related business to stay in the guest houses. Currently, alumni may stay in the guest houses without charge two nights each fiscal year, subject to availability. Guest house rooms are in high demand, so it is advisable to call as far in advance as possible when booking a room.

We are happy to offer Prospective students two nights of accommodations in our guesthouse as our guests, vacancy permitting.  Additional nights can be reserved at the standard rate.

Current rates for the guest house range from $99-$149/night plus tax for a single and $111-$170/night plus tax for a double. Breakfast is included.

Wilmer Hall, 3700 Bishop Walker Circle, and Johns Hall, 3710 Bishop Walker Circle, are the guest houses located on the Seminary campus. Parking for guests is located only in the lot behind the Seminary Post Office. There is no parking on the circle in front of the guesthouses. Check-in is anytime after 3:00 p.m. and check-out is before 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure. For the comfort of all our visitors, Wilmer and Johns Halls are non-smoking buildings, and no pets are allowed.

Visitors are always welcome to join us for meals in the Refectory or worship in the Chapel.

Community Worship
is an integral part of Virginia Seminary. The Seminary community gathers to worship on a regular basis, and all visitors to the campus are invited to join us in the Chapel. A detailed schedule of worship services can be found here.

Guest house check-in during regular business hours takes place at the Welcome Center which is located near the Seminary Road entrance to campus and is directly adjacent to the Immanuel Chapel. Please come to the Welcome Center when you arrive on campus. The center offers internet access, complimentary coffee and information about the seminary.
The Alexandria Yellow Cab Company generally serves the Seminary quite efficiently. The number for a cab request is 703-549-2500. Tell the dispatcher you need a cab at the Virginia Seminary, 3737 Seminary Road, Alexandria, VA. The best campus spots for meeting a cab are “on the circle in front of Aspinwall” or “on the circle in front of Johns and Wilmer Halls”.

Old Town Alexandria is the historic district of the City of Alexandria. Alexandria was a colonial seaport established in 1724 and Old Town is now a lovely restored area with interesting sights, shops and restaurants. You can get there by catching the DASH bus right outside the Seminary Road gate (across the street). At the southern tip of Alexandria is Mount Vernon, the home of our most famous citizen, George Washington. (About a 15-minute car ride from the Seminary)

The Metro is the best way to get around the city of Washington, DC. The closest Metro stop is the King Street Station which is about 3 miles in the direction of Old Town Alexandria. A cab ride to this station will cost around $9.00. A DASH bus ride to the station is $1.75
