The following scholarships were established by graduates and friends of Virginia Theological Seminary, are administered by VTS and available only to entering or currently enrolled students at VTS.

The Bishop Payne Scholarship covers full tuition for any full- or part-time Black Episcopalian entering the Master in Divinity, Master of Arts, Anglican Studies, Diploma in Theology, or Non-Degree programs.
The Locke E. Bowman, Jr. Scholarship for Christian Formation is available to full- and part-time students in the Master of Arts program pursuing a concentration in Christian formation. It is awarded to entering students based upon their financial need and to returning students with a GPA of 3.0 and in good standing.
The Choir Scholarships offer $1,000 vocal scholarship awards to students who demonstrate exceptional sight reading and vocal abilities. The recipients of these scholarship (one per vocal part) are determined by the music department upon annual audition in late August by interested students. Scholarship recipients serve as section leaders in the Seminary Choir.
The John Henry Kreitler and Murial Gwillem Kreitler Environmental Scholarships were established to enhance appreciation and stewardship of the environment through informed theological beliefs. They are available to students, faculty and staff to participate in international or national consultations, conferences or events related to the environment. Rolling Deadline.
The Scholarship for International Programs (SIP) Grant awards funds to students in order to participate in immersion programs of cross-cultural study. Deadlines are October 15 for January Term experiences and March 1 for summer.
