Chapel music is provided by one of four groups. Students are invited to join one or more of these groups for the academic year.
Seminary Choir—open to all. A simple, painless audition is needed. This is the principle choir at the seminary, because we sing for worship each week.
Motet Choir—a small group of students who read music well, taken from the Seminary Choir gets together three or four times before a major event they present, chiefly Advent Lessons & Carols the second Sunday afternoon of December. Sometimes selected singers from area parish choirs join this group in which case it is then called the Episcopal Community Choir.
Schola Cantorum—this is a select group of people who sing Evensong each Tuesday afternoon, led by a student conductor.
Prayer and Praise group—this is another student-led group, who lead the Prayer and Praise evening service each week. In order to participate in this group, students should contact the student leader, who this year is
There is one audition that covers the first three groups. Auditions are held during the first week of the semester.
Students are encouraged to create other opportunities to bring music to campus. In the past, students have organized recitals, hymn sgins, rock concerts, and online collaborations.
