Ed Begley, Jr. is well known as a stage and screen actor, and equally well known as an ardent environmentalist.  He serves on the boards of several environmental organizations and his work has earned him a number of awards from some of the most prestigious environmental groups in the nation. He is the author of numerous publications regarding sustainable living. He lives in a self-sufficient home powered by solar energy.

His acting career includes appearances in hundreds of films, television shows, and stage performances. He is most recognized for his role on the television series St. Elsewhere (1982–1988), for which he received six consecutive Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe Award nomination. He also co-hosted, along with wife Rachelle Carson, the green living reality show entitled Living with Ed.

VTS has reserved a block of rooms at the Courtyard Alexandria Pentagon South, 4651 Kenmore Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22304. The group rate is $174/night plus taxes. Parking is complimentary for VTS guests. Reservations must be made by September 9, 2016. After that time, space and special rate cannot be guaranteed.
