Lay committees play an important role in the seminarian’s Field Education experience by offering support and challenge. These committees are invaluable to the formation of well-rounded ordained leaders, with far-reaching implications in the wider church. Lay committees are expected to meet with their seminarians once per month for two hours during the academic year (Sept.-May), and to complete an End of Year Report and an assessment of the seminarian.
Each year the Department of Field Education conducts an orientation and assessment workshop to equip lay committee conveners, members, and seminarians for this vital process. Committee members will need to attend this orientation twice- once for the Middler year and once for the Senior year.Dates for the Lay Committee Orientation, Fall 2018:
- Session 1- TBA
- Session 2- TBA
- Session 3- TBA
All sessions are identical, so participants are invited to attend the one that is most convenient for them.
