Second Three Years Program

The Second Three Years Program (S3YP) offers continuing support for VTS graduates in ordained ministry. The program was developed as a result of research with newly ordained and experienced clergy. For M.Div., A.S., and Theo. alumni, we offer three additional years of training, mentorship, and support. We aid in setting additional learning goals and self-evaluation around competencies necessary for effective ministry. As new clergy, your first three years post-seminary are crucial. Please consult with your bishop and/or deployment officer about full participation in the S3YP as part of any hiring agreement.
BENEFITS
1. One-on-one mentoring with a trained mentor throughout all three years;
2. Creation of a peer mentoring network,
3. Up to $750 in financial support for a continuing education project to be undertaken prior to the conclusion of their three years in the program, and
4. A working visit to an institutional study site, where graduates can learn from effective leaders in various settings.
5. Up to $500 per year for ten members of each graduating class who apply to the S3YP for additional funds to attend an on-campus training/workshop.

ELIGIBILITY
Beginning with the Class of 2009, all graduates on the ordination track from the Master of Divinity program and the program in Anglican Studies are invited to participate in the S3YP.
