Our vision to build the Chapel for the Ages emerged from the leadership of the Board of Trustees, the Chapel for the Ages Building Committee and the Dean and President. Our decision to embark upon this project is informed by a visionary, thoughtful process: strategic conversations and listening sessions provided hospitable space for various constituencies to talk about their vision. A plan was revised as the need for a new chapel emerged and will provide the blueprint for our new reality, advancing our vision and giving bricks and mortar to our dreams.
The chapel will include a tall space—the worship area for 350; a sacristy and vesting room; a choir room; a nursery; and a garden area.
We will build a Chapel:
to glorify God in our worship and praise;
to form seminarians for leadership in our church and the Anglican Communion;
to encourage our parish partner Immanuel-Church-on-the-Hill and the congregations of The Episcopal Church.
Our Chapel for the Ages Building Committee is responsible for incorporating the feedback from our constituencies, discerning our options, and shaping our design plans. We must raise $13 million to realize our objective—a new chapel on the Holy Hill.
"It's an opportunity to actually construct something that will be a real gift, not something simply to the immediate generation, but to successive generations going out centuries." – The Very Rev. Ian S. Markham, Ph.D. Dean and President
