*Fall courses closed; Spring courses will open in November.*

Baptized for Voting: Being a Citizen and Being a Disciple

The Rev. Dr. Patricia Lyons and distinguished guest speakers, including theologians, politicians, and civil servants
Mondays, 7:30-9:30 p.m., September 10 – November 12 (no class 10/8 and 11/5)
$150

How does being Episcopalian and Anglican inform us as voters? Why and how does the Episcopal Church take positions on “political” issues? How do we, as faithful individuals, live out our baptismal vows at the voting booth? Join thought leaders as they reflect on how faith informs their work. Portions of this course will be live-streamed.

God Through Many Eyes: Mapping Contemporary Theologies
The Rev. Dr. Larry Goleman
Wednesdays, 7:30-9:30 p.m., September 12 – November 14
$150

Contemporary Christian theology incorporates multiple voices and perspectives: from theologies of spirituality to theologies of social change, and from modern to postmodern approaches. Explore seven distinct families of Christian thought and practice today, including theologies of spirituality, Biblical theologies, narrative theologies, theologies of community, public theologies, theologies of liberation, feminist theologies, and other contextual theologies. Develop your own map through this terrain and articulate your own approach to contemporary theology.

“That’s What She Said…”: Biblical Characters in Culture and Art
The Rev. Dr. Judy Fentress-Williams, Peggy Parker (MFA), Lisa Smith (MTS), Dr. Kathy Staudt and the Rev. Dr. Bill Roberts
Thursdays, 7:30-9:30 p.m., September 13 – November 15
$150

Dig deeper into Biblical characters, comparing how sacred texts describe them with how cultures have captured them. Explore these characters and their stories through various art forms (theatre, visual arts, music and poetry), guided by faithful artists in each of these fields.
