We have learned the cause of the fire. It was an accident; no one is to blame. So we take a breath and offer the entire tragedy to God. There are some moments which are transforming. This is one of those moment.

Now we start the hard work of moving on. Last night we gathered in Scott Lounge for worship. Scripture was read with passion; we sang praises to the Lord God; and we bowed our heads in prayer. God was present in that place.

Not surprisingly, an internal debate (that readers of the commentary should feel free to join) has started. What is the best place on the campus (or beyond) to become our worship home for the next few years? And what sort of vision should we create for a permanent place of worship? These are important questions. We want friends and alums to feel free to join the conversation.
