The Fight for the Holy Hill: Competition and Fellowship between VTS and EHS

The Seminary and The High School squared off on Tuesday, November 15, in the first of three events aimed at strengthening the relationship between the two institutions.  In what has been dubbed “The Fight for the Holy Hill,” Episcopal High School (EHS) faculty and members of the Virginia Theology Seminary (VTS) community have pledged to gather three times this academic year for friendly competition and fellowship.

The first of these events, volleyball, was held in Centennial Gymnasium on the EHS campus.  The Friars, coached by middler Darren Steadman, came out strong and won the first game 25-18.  The Maroon faculty would come back to win the next two games 20-25 and 19-25, to claim the first round title.   It was smiles all around as the golden flamingo was unveiled as the coveted trophy awarded at the end of the year.

Following the match, both EHS faculty and VTS team members met in Café 1823 for dessert and refreshment.  A special thank you to Meriwether-Godsey and the Seminary’s hospitality team for providing and arranging the post-game snacks.  Likewise, a thank you to EHS’s Student Wellness Coordinator, Emily Straight, for being our liaison on the High School side of the fence.

The next event will be Team Trivia, in February of 2017.

Go Friars! Go High School!
