VTS Press began in 2009 as an extension of the mission and ministry of Virginia Theological Seminary. Founded in 1823, Virginia Theological Seminary is the largest of the 11 accredited seminaries of the Episcopal Church. VTS prepares men and women for service in the Church worldwide, both as ordained and lay ministers, and offers a number of professional degree programs and diplomas. The Seminary currently represents more than 40 different dioceses and five different countries.
As a publishing house, VTS Press specializes in books that equip the Episcopal Church for ministry, written by distinguished graduates of VTS -- as well as books that celebrate the history and development of the Seminary. In addition, VTS Press publishes an annual journal of the best sermons, papers, and presentations from the Seminary each academic year.
